Strawberry season is here.

Some of the winter injury problems we experienced last year were carried into this year and our older patches are not very healthy.
We have some new patches planted last year that look good and there will be good picking in those.
We have planted over 10 acres of new berries for next year.  So next year, we should be back to normal for our picking acreage
Because we have a limited acreage of strawberries this year, our opening hours will be shortened.  To compound the problem, two of the other remaining strawberry growers in the area Kingshott Gardens and Al Ferri and Sons will not have strawberries for picking this year.
We will be the only farm in the area open for strawberry picking this year.
The great number of people who have come to know the Huttonville area for it's pick your own strawberry farms will be disappointed since the supply this year will be limited.  This is due to urban sprawl and the short sighted planning of our local government.
If you are planning to come to our farm for picking, I encourage you to come early in the morning since we will only be open each day for a few hours.
